Fleetwood Sky

Aerial View over Fleetwood, Lancashire (2022)

A Journey Back in Time

Back in 2022, I sent my drone into the skies over Fleetwood, Lancashire. At the time, I was still learning, still finding my voice as a photographer — but every shot told me something about where I was heading. These images weren’t just landscapes; they were fragments of memory. A frozen record of how I saw the world then — raw, simple, and real.

From above, the sea pushed against the sand, lines drawn where water met land. That view reminded me that life is about boundaries, but also about flow — nothing ever stays the same tide after tide.

The RNLI lifeboat rested at its station, tethered but always ready. To me, it stood as a symbol of service — quiet strength, people willing to risk it all for others, waiting for the call.

The coastline stretched out, where the town spilled into the sea. Streets and homes meeting endless water reminded me of connection — how human life and nature always share the same edges.

The River Wyre curved its way outward, a path carved by time and tide. Looking down, I thought about journeys — how everything flows toward something bigger.

From the sky, the tight rows of houses painted a picture of community. It wasn’t just bricks and rooftops; it was people, stories, and lives bound together in a heartbeat only a town can carry.

That winter day, there I was — hood up, controller in hand, learning to fly. Just a man trying to see differently. A reminder that every journey begins rough, but the important part is that it begins.

Fleetwood’s landmark curve — the roundabout, the memorial, the sweep of the sand — pulled the story together. A town rooted in history, still standing strong against the winds of time.

This was Fleetwood in 2022. More than just photos, it was a moment in my journey — my bio written in skies and sand. Looking back now, I see growth. But most of all, I see gratitude: for freedom, for vision, and for the chance to tell stories my way.

Here I am — stood on the cold shore of Fleetwood back in 2022, controller in hand, chasing a vision I didn’t fully understand yet. Drone photography, for me, has never just been about flying a camera. It’s about perspective — seeing the world from angles we don’t normally get to see, capturing stories hidden in the ordinary, and finding freedom in the skies.

These early flights taught me more than just how to pilot a drone. They taught me patience, discipline, and the value of slowing down to see. Every image is a reminder that the world is bigger than my own view, and that telling stories — whether through land, sea, or sky — is what I was meant to do.

This is where it started. Just me, my drone, and the sea — learning to see differently.

Because every picture tells a story, and every story deserves to be remembered.
