Hey, I’m Jonathan – but most people know me as JT.
Thanks for taking a moment to get to know me and my work.

I come from a background where staying calm under pressure and working with all kinds of people was part of the job. I spent several years working in frontline security, supervising small teams and supporting large public events. It taught me how to handle pressure, stay grounded, and work with people from all walks of life.

But photography? That’s where I found peace.
It started back in 2021 during a tough chapter in my life. I began documenting my surroundings on wild solo snorkelling trips through the landscapes of Scotland and the Highlands. With a GoPro underwater and a drone in the sky, I found something that made sense to me — capturing the world as I saw it.

But really, the story started even earlier.

🏕 From Struggles to Scotland

In 2018, I hit a low point. Life felt heavy, so I packed a bag and left. I hitchhiked through Scotland, wild camped, fished, and slept wherever I could pitch a tent. It was rough — soaked through, bitten by bugs, often alone. But it was also beautiful. I met strangers who welcomed me, fed me, gave me warmth, and reminded me what human kindness really looks like.

That journey taught me a lot:

➡️ How to appreciate the small things
➡️ How to reconnect with people and myself

It shifted my whole perspective — and it’s that same grounded outlook I bring to my work today.

🚐 One Man, One Camera, One Van

In 2022, I built a tiny camper van and spent over a year travelling the UK — from the Outer Hebrides to the coasts of Wales and the English seaside towns. Every place had a story. Every person I met gave me a reason to keep going. And through it all, I kept creating.

Now, I run JT Snaps Photography & Drone Services, based in Lancashire, UK. I offer photo and drone content for people, small businesses, and local communities — especially those who need help telling their story, getting noticed, or want better content without the stress.
